We are working on Hugi #35. More than 200 kbytes of texts have been written so far. Magic has returned to us and will be present with his articles. We want to release Hugi more frequently, this means smaller issues, but more releases. (Making the latest few Hugi issues took between 8 and 10 months per issue, that's too much.) If you want to write: mail me at cdvolko@gmx.net!

26 April 2008: About EP
EP, who used to write articles for Hugi, sent mails to Hogeschool Rotterdam on April 4th and April 7th with the intention to get the scene.org server, which is hosted by Hogeschool Rotterdam, shut down. We want to state that we're shocked at this behaviour. We want to distance ourselves from EP's actions and in order to clearly show our disapproval, we've decided that we will never publish anything created by him anymore, no matter what pseudonym he might use. Although EP signs his mails with a link to the Hugi website or with "EP / Hugi", he is not associated with the Hugi diskmag any more (in fact, he was never a member of the Hugi Core).

07 July 2005: Articles wanted!

We're looking for articles for Hugi #31! If you want some inspiration, here are some of the topics we consider interesting. Of course you're free to write about any other topic you consider suitable!

The Development of Demo Parties throughout the last decade
From small-scale, semi-private copyparties to big, commercial game-events: Throughout the last decade, demo parties have undergone a radical development. What do you think about this? (It's recommended that you have visited several different demo parties if you want to write about this topic, but it's not mandatory.)

Party Compos
"Are ASCII/ANSI and 4k compos getting extinct?" As a matter of fact, certain compos that used to be present at almost any demo party are starting to be less regularly held. The Party in Denmark, for example, even abolished the 4k intro competition. Are these types of scene art really so "out" that it's no longer worth the effort (and the prize money) to host such compos? Are there any alternatives to party compos?

Art vs. Technology - What should demomakers focus on?
For quite some time already, there has been a battle between coders who emphasize the traditional, technical virtues of demos such as code-optimizing and a united force of artists and new-school coders who would like to see the focus on art and the message of the demo. What do you think about this?

What questions do you get in your emails?
If you're an active demomaker, you'll probably get "fanmail" from time to time. Sometimes people will also ask you questions. What do they ask most frequently? What are the answers?

Diary of a Demo-Maker
What are the problems faced in a particular demo-project? How does the individual process of creation work? Keep a log-file while working on your next demo-project and assemble it to an article after completing it.

A Study of Demogroup Structures
How are different demogroups structures? Are they real groups with equal members, or is there a kind of leader? How does the internal communication work? How are projects arranged? How are solo productions of individual members handled? It would be interesting to investigate how various demogroups differ in these and similar aspects.

Influence of past demoscene on current IT sector
How have (ex-)sceners shaped the development of the IT industry?

Scene Radio Stations
One of the latest media of the scene is Internet radios. There are two different types: On the one hand, music radios such as Nectarine, and on the other, information radios such as The Havok. Which of these concepts do you prefer, and what do you think about scene radios in general?

Local demo scenes in various countries
Ever heard of a scener from Sri Lanka? Liechtenstein? Or New Zealand? There are demo-freaks in this country! But how active are they? What have they released? Anything worth being presented to the international community? You need not even write about such exotic places - how about a report on the scene in Italy, France or your hometown, for example?

Demoscene on non-x86 platforms
C64, Amiga, Atari ST: there's still an active demo scene on the classic platforms. But there are also sceners working with more exotic equipment such as Sega Dreamcast, Sony PlayStation and other video game consoles, or MacIntosh, PowerPC, QNX and so on. What groups are active? What have they released in the past years? Who belongs to the top? What diskmags are released for these platforms? And at what demo parties do these sceners assemble?

The Legends of the Past - What they are doing now
Future Crew, Triton, Komplex, Orange, NoooN, Sanity, The Black Lotus, Imphobia, Cascada,... - big names of the past that have secured their places in the history books of the scene. A small part of their members is still a regular contributor to demo compos. Others have been totally absorbed into the real world - many of them are now working in the game industry, and some have even founded their own companies. Some ex-sceners have also chosen an academic career. What has happened to individual ex-sceners, how have they developed? What do they think of the scene of today?

Moreover, we're looking for programming tutorials on topics such as:

Oldskool graphic tutorials
Metasurface polygonisation tutorials
Vocoding / Klatt synthesis
Linux programming
Code Optimizing
Sound Synthesis
Realtime Raytracing
Free-directional Voxels
Advanced image compression methods
Physical simulations
Help for Research for New Effects
Metasurfaces
Music players
Palm programming
3D Engine
Lightmaps
Advanced OpenGL
Texture synthesis
Octrees

28 June 2004: 6th anniversary of Hugi 11

Hiya!

Six years ago, on June 28th, 1998, issue 11 of the Hugi Magazine was released. This was the first issue in English language and laid the foundation of Hugi's international success.

The opening picture is a work from Antony Squizzato. Hellfire/Haujobb created the background graphics, and Dendrite/Hugi made the closing image.

The music - jazz style - was composed by Smash, who was then a member of Beam and Noise.

On this occasion, I'd like to ask you to write articles for Hugi #29. I'm planning to release the new issue during the summer holidays. We are still in need of articles of any kind - coding tutorials, party reports, interviews, ramblings, short stories and the like.

There was a poll attached to Hugi #28. You can also find it at the website, http://www.hugi.scene.org/. I'd like to ask two additional questions:

- What is your opinion on the public release of werkkzeug1 by Farbrausch?
- How do you think will it influence the development of the demoscene?

In case you don't know werkkzeug1 yet, check out one of these websites:
http://www.theprodukkt.com/
http://www.bitchtothecurb.com/workthings/

Have a nice summer!

Best regards,
Adok/Hugi

24 June 2003: Sorry, Hungary!

Excuse to Hungary for not being mentioned in the Editorial of Hugi 27. There are so many Hungarian cars in Vienna that it's hard to believe Hungary has not already joined the EU a long time ago. So: A warm welcome to the club goes to Hungary as well.

22 June 2003: HUGI 27 HAS BEEN RELEASED.

The long-awaited 27th issue of the world's leading PC disk magazine, Hugi, has been released! Grab Hugi 27 here.

11 June 2003: How about reviews?

Hi all!

While we're doing the routine tasks necessary to finish a new Hugi issue, we have a suggestion for you: How about writing a review of a scene-related production? Be it a demo, an intro, a picture, a tune or something else: If you like to write about an interesting recent release or an older, not-so-well-known prod, you're warmly welcome.

Submit your reviews for Hugi 27 to my email address:
cdvolko@gmx.net

Of course we're still accepting
* interviews,
* reports,
* making-ofs,
* news,
* tutorials (graphics creation, music composition, coding)
and the like as well!

It will still take at least a week until Hugi 27 gets finished. Please use this time for writing and submitting your articles, in order to contribute to the tree whose fruit you are going to harvest soon!

Cheers
Claus - Adok/Hugi

03 June 2003: We still accept articles!

Yours,
Claus - Adok/Hugi

25 May 2003: Happy Birthday, Hugi!

Today, which is May 25th, 2003, Hugi celebrates its 7th "birthday": Exactly 7 years - or 2556 days - ago, the first issue was released!

In these 7 years, we've brought you 26 issues with a total of more than 24600 kbyte of articles. That's about 10 kbyte of articles per day!

BTW, it's 1 week until the articles deadline for Hugi 27. Since my last posting, several new texts have arrived; among them an interview with MiRRORMaN/S!P, a treatise on "Randomness in Demos" and a tut about templating with PHP.

When are you going to submit your texts for Hugi 27?

Cheers
Adok/Hugi

The articles from Hugi 24 have been included in the Hugi Articles Index.

By the way, the PHP scripting on the page has been tuned up a little, so that we've been able to save several hundreds of kbytes... but I guess you haven't, and won't, notice that.

01 January 2002: The Hugi Crew wishes you a Happy New Year. On this occasion, we have a special present for you: HUGI 24. Download it now & enjoy!

23 November 2001: The pre-release of the Hugi/Linux reader can now be downloaded (1.3 Mb). The biggest change is that support for 16bit modes has been added (previous versions crashed in such modes). This is a binary release complete of the required TrueType fonts. If you want the source of the platform-dependent stuff, mail Bonz and specify which GCC you're using (2.x or 3.x) You need libggi 2.x and libmikmod to run it (yes, it doesn't use SDL...).

01 November 2001: Hugi was presented at the first ncc48 netart community congress. This event, held in Graz/Austria on October 25-27, was organized by the local cultural association mur.at. The concept of the diskmag and its potential for presentation of electronic literature were explained by means of screenshots and working examples. In the course of the show the demoscene was also covered in order to explain the cultural context.
Thanks to Martin Krusche (http://www.unplugged.at/), organizer of the section of the event on net-literature, for the invitation to speak at the congress.
(ncc48 netart community congress website: http://ncc.mur.at/)

25 September 2001: The Hugi website is now PHP-driven. 400 kbytes of webspace have thus been saved. Well, it's a minor change of course. :)

24 September 2001: Iliks has translated the Hugi Website to Russian! You can view the Russian site here. Spasibo, iliks, for this effort.

In addition, the list of requested coding articles has been updated; check it out if you want to write some.

22 September 2001: The Hugi Articles Index can now be browsed on-line as well.

26 July 2001: Hugi can now be read using Linux. Bonz has created a Linux viewer for Hugi. It can be used with Hugi issue 18 (v1.4), 19 (v1.1), 20 or newer. The viewer currently is in its beta stage. If you are interested in testing it, download it and send any comments to bonzini@gnu.org.

22 July 2001: Adok's primary email address has changed. Please write to cdvolko@gmx.net from now on. The old, ISP-bound address will still work for one year, but might cease to work afterwards.

17 July 2001: The Disk Magazine Webring has shut down. For two years, the Disk Magazine Webring connected the websites of diskmags from various computer platforms and countries. It also had a homepage hosted at its own domain, www.diskmags.com. Now its maintainer, Richard Karsmakers, has decided to shut it down. "The number of member sites doesn't grow, the number of extra hits generated is not big enough. Besides, I don't have time enough to keep the ring working properly. I have a dozen other sites that absorb all my time already..." We thank Richard for maintaining the ring and wish him all the best for his new projects.

15 July 2001: We're happy to announce that iliks has just joined the Hugi Staff. He's a student of computer science living in Novosibirsk, Russia. iliks has been very active since the latest issue of Hugi, writing and translating articles, and composing music. Welcome, iliks!

27 June 2001: To make it easier for you, I've added a couple of interesting scene-related topics to the requested articles section. See you again on July 11th!

26 June 2001: Adok is leaving to Kos/Greece to spend there two weeks of holidays without Internet access. He'll be back on July 11 and he's already looking forward to all of you! Meanwhile, he has observed that the last Hugi issues slightly lacked general demoscene-related articles (interviews, reviews, reports, philosophical essays) in comparison to previous editions. He'd be very pleased if you could help make this different for Hugi 23!

22 June 2001: About the upcoming Hugi 23: More than 300 kb have arrived thus far. The majority of them belongs to the scene and coding sections. Some of the topics that will be covered in Hugi 23:

  • "Demology" - How the academic world recognizes demos
  • Namevoting - The Need for a Corporate Identity
  • Interview with Zalza - a highly versatile scene musician
  • The Art of Code Optimization
  • How to write a Scripting Engine for demos
  • How to optimize Java bytecode
  • Approximating functions using Taylor Series
  • Internal Sorting Algorithms
  • The history of Text adventure games
  • Windows XP and the unlocking threat
  • UN Humanitarian Intervention and AIDS
  • Short stories and poems by Sol and iliks

We are looking for more articles, especially in these sections:

  • Scene (interviews, opinionated articles, reports, reviews)
  • Coding (graphic/sound, mathematics, algorithms in general)
  • Graphics (no articles for this section have arrived yet! we want tutorials, statements on artistic/philosophic aspects of demo-gfx, reviews etc.)
  • Music (tuts, philosophy, reviews)
  • Technology/Science (opinionated articles, book reviews, introductionary tutorials)

If you want to contribute, drop a mail! The preliminary submission deadline for articles is July 31.

25 May 2001: Today, the Hugi Magazine celebrates its fifth anniversary. Happy birthday, Hugi!! Expect the special edition Best of Hugi 1-20 to come in Summer along with Hugi 23.

06 May 2001: Thanks to dEF bASE, Hugi now has a new mirror site at The Havok! Also thanks to kbi for uploading all international issues of Hugi to his new FTP server for the scene, toya.scene.pl.

03 May 2001: Hugi #22 - Russian Edition has been released. Thanks to the great work of iliks, Aquila, slash, Virtual, most of the articles from Hugi 22 were translated to the Russian language. The remaining ones are included in English. I hope the Russian-speaking people among you will enjoy it!

18 April 2001: Hugi Size Coding Competition #14, the first in the year 2001, has started. The task of this time is a flashback to compo 9, for which the participiants had to code an emulator for the fictional SPEW CPU. Now the compo is about creating an Assembler for SPEW - of course, as always, in as few bytes as possible. This will be the first compo that will count for the new World League Table of Assembler 2001. You can find the rules, test-suite, example program and all other necessary information at the Hugi Compo website.

12 April 2001: Thank you all for the great feedback on Hugi 22!! BTW, as you might have noticed there's been a lot of trouble with the servers last night. First, www.hugi.scene.org didn't accept uploads, and on top of that index.htm was deleted from the server when I tried to upload the new one. Then I temporarily stored the site at GeoCities, but due to the traffic generated by the downloads of Hugi 22 GeoCities broke down and my account at GeoCities was suspended. Fortunately many of you created their own mirrors and thus it was possible to download Hugi 22 all the time! Thank you a lot for this! It's the best proof that the scene is not just alive but vibrating with an enormous amount of energy! For one day the temporary main site was http://www.virtually.at/hugi/ (hosted by Franky - tnx!). Now in the evening of April 12 www.hugi.scene.org was finally working again thanks to Salami's efforts. All is like it used to be - except that we now have a whole lot of mirror sites. ;) Among them there's a scene.org mirror, located at http://www.hugi.scene.org/ - thanks to Distance, Redhound & the other people in the scene.org staff, you're great!

11 April 2001: Hugi 22 has been released, go get it now!! 852 KB of exciting articles are waiting for you. Also, as you might have already noticed some details have been changed to the layout of this site, hopefully you'll enjoy them!

01 April 2001: Important Note: According to a newsgroup posting, the future of my (Adok's) ISP seems to be uncertain. I do not know if/how email addresses will be affected, but please send your emails for me to cdvolko@gmx.net with CC to adok@blackbox.at from now on.

Concerning Hugi #22: Still some work to go, about 200kb of articles to be processed, and a couple of text to be written by me apart from the regular column such as Editorial and News. I'm working heavily, and I want to release it as soon as possible - in any case before Mekka & Symposium, that is April 13.

05 March 2001: Time for news on Hugi 22. There's already > 400 kb of texts. Quite a large variety of topics is covered: In the scene corner you'll find interviews with Chaos & Fiver2 of farbrausch as well as Firelight, the maker of FMOD. As regards the coding corner, there has been quite a lot of response to the survey conducted in the Hugi mailinglist. Among other topics sound synthesis and 3D visibility pipelines in dynamic worlds will be covered, and there'll also be four tutorials on PHP!

Apart from the usual range of areas we're trying to cover new fields; there'll probably be a corner called "The Art of Writing", and some interesting satire - I won't reveal anything more yet... In the Real World corner Tomcat will present a little study on graffitis in public toilets of Hungarian cinemas, and there'll even be a "How to get a girlfriend tutorial" especially written for real nerds. :)

We're looking for more articles. The deadline for article submission is March 15, 2001. You know, you can write about which you think to be interesting for other readers of Hugi. Some hints if you need inspiration: The party reports corner is pretty empty at the moment, there's not much on GFX & music engineering yet, and we all would love to read more of these funny scene-ramblings. :) [Submit your articles]

17 February 2001: I had a bad cold (uh, this starts sounding like a private homepage, which it definitely is not!) but I'm back in business. Today's update: All HugiNews issues have been converted to HTML format and can be read online more comfortably. Thank goes to mad/os who wrote the HugiNews-to-HTML CGI script!

02 February 2001: The final version of Hugi 20 - Russian Edition is now available. A lot of the articles have been translated to Russian; the other articles have been included in their original English versions. In addition, information on new Russian demoparties held in 2001 has been added to the magazine.

20 January 2001: Chris would like that you read this:

"Just like all other types of scene activity, diskmags need development, and so does Hugi. Hence we have been enforced to ask you, the readers, to support Hugi. The articles is not the only thing we were troubling lately with: many readers desire more than only a simple picture in the background. Thus we are looking for skillful graphicians to join us, and help to develop better user interface themes, that would wake up the unexplored power that is sleeping in the Hugi engine since Hugi#20.

Because some users also desire that Hugi support the Linux platform, we are also looking for a programmer who would create a Linux OS plugin for the engine that would enable it to run under Linux. Unfortunately I am currently unable to fulfill that demand personally, so if you are interested in our proposal, contact me immediately. This job requires you to have some substantial experience in Linux and X-Window programming, i.e. handling windows, fullscreen, pixmaps, events, fonts (preferably TrueType) and timers. It will also consume some of your time, but in return you will gain appreciation and hopefully fame among the Linux-using Hugi readers out there."

Chris Dragan, chris@chrisdragan.org

15 January 2001: The online edition of Hugi 21 is now available. You can also post comments on the articles there.

Some words about the current state of affairs: The Hugi website and the complete archive have already been uploaded to a new server, but DeNIC (Germany's equivalent of Internic) still has to change the IP address of hugi.scene.org. As soon as this has been done, you will be able to access all the files that used to be only at Foxfiber again.

06 January 2001: We're changing servers. Please read this.

Foxfiber has just moved to another server. Therefore our mirror site at http://hugi.foxfiber.net/ is currently not available. We will see to it that the mirror gets restored as soon as possible.

Next week the main site, http://www.hugi.scene.org/, is going to move to a new server. Therefore, if connecting to our main site fails, try the mirror at Foxfiber, which should then be available again.

For news and updated information during this period of transition, you can subscribe to the Hugi Mailinglist.

31 December 2000: One week after the release of Hugi 21, it's time to thank all people who have sent us their feedback so far. As well, I am grateful to everyone who has already submitted articles for Hugi 22. In total we already have more than 100 kb of texts for the next issue. As music, we're planning to use mostly chip-tunes this time. The graphics will be by FloOd/Noice. Of course we're always interested in new pictures because we will need them in future issues.

What we need for the next issue the most now is articles. From the previous issues of Hugi you know what kinds of articles are prefered by the readers. Basically you can write about anything you think to be important for other people to know, in the areas of technology, the demoscene, science, art, literature and politics. If you need some inspiration, you may also check out the updated list of requested coding-related topics and the new list of requested graphics tutorials.

By the way, we're trying to release the international and the Russian edition of Hugi 22 simultaneously. If you want to be a translator, please contact me.

The preliminary articles submission deadline for Hugi 22 is March 15, 2001.

25 December 2000: The quest for the hidden tune in Hugi 21 has already started. The names of the first ten finders will be imprinted in the Page of Honour.

23 December 2000: Hugi 21 is a matter of fact! You can now download it. Enjoy reading! We also wish you a merry x-mas and a happy new year 2001.

18 December 2000: Another diary update.

10 December 2000: The diary has been updated. Have a look in it, you greedy ppl. :)

30 November 2000: Folks, I want to thank everyone who has reacted to my call for topics of coding articles until now. Here is the list of topics which have reached me so far.

Furthermore, a general programming tutorial from scratch until demo coding was requested.

If you are interested in writing about one or a couple of these issues, I gladly welcome you to do so. Contact me at: cdvolko@gmx.net

25 November 2000: To all people interested in coding:

I am aware that coding tutorials are very important for a large part of the Hugi readership.

So far we've received only 7 coding articles for the next Hugi issue. But I'm sure there are much more topics people want to learn about that have not been dealt with in Hugi yet!

In recent days, coders increasingly say that they are generally willing to write tutorial articles for Hugi, but do not manage to think of a particular topic.

Perhaps you could help them. If there is a particular topic you would like to learn more about, tell me. I'll forward it to coders who could elaborate on it. I'm also planning to publish a list of these topics in the next Hugi issue, so that everyone with knowledge and motivation can write about them.

22 November 2000: A general update of the site structure has been done: the static initial page has been replaced by the news page. The content of the previous initial page has been moved to the page 'What is Hugi?'. I want to use this page in order to keep regular contact with the readers.

21 November 2000: The Diary of a Diskmag Editor has been updated with the development of Hugi 21 from the beginning of September until today. Read it to learn about the current state of affairs, the everyday work on the diskmag, and changes in the staff, such as TAD's leaving the Hugi Core & Royal Family, which I regret a lot.

13 November 2000: Hugi 18 and Hugi 19 have been upgraded to Panorama 2 (the engine of Hugi 20). Because of this you can now also read them using the BeOS version of the Hugi engine.

01 November 2000: The articles submission deadline for Hugi 21 is over - we're now working had on finishing the mag! If you have any last-minute news items or texts you want to have included send them to cdvolko@gmx.net and I'll try to include them still in this issue as long as the diskmag hasn't been uploaded yet. Moreover, I want to point you to the Hugi Size Coding Competition #13, which has started today. It's about coding the smallest possible Soko-Ban game.

Hugi 21 Teaser by TAD/Hugi04 October 2000: Hugi Core & Royal Family are preparing another cool issue of your favourite scene-magazine for you. As always contributions from you are welcome. Write about coding, demos, parties, technology, science, literature or any other topic you find interesting. Send your articles to cdvolko@gmx.net until October 31, 2000 (halloween). So far we've received 300 kbytes of articles from our readers. Click on the image to see a (incomplete) list of article contributors.

21 September 2000: A nice extra for new coders: The complete sourcecode of Hugi #11 can now be obtained - as always, for free!

16 September 2000: And another big release! Hugi.GER #2 is now available to accelerate your way of thinking - if you understand written German.

14 September 2000: A preliminary edition of Hugi 20 - Russian Edition has been released. It features 25% of the text from Hugi 20 translated to Russian language.

31 August 2000: Thanks to FloOd, the Hugi website now has an intro for Shockwave Flash! Also added: the first pre-release of The Diary of a Diskmag Editor - for all who want to learn about the progress of Hugi 21 and its main-ed's real feelings!

25 August 2000: Added the sections How you can support Hugi and Selected Articles.

23 August 2000: irc.gammaforce.org now has an IRC channel called #hugi devoted to discussion about Hugi and generally all other topics. Drop by if you're interested.

17 August 2000: Chris has ported the Hugi 20 interface to BeOS. The BeOS engine has been added to the Alternative Interfaces page.

12 August 2000: Several people have already found the hidden tune in Hugi 20. The names of the first ten are imprinted in the Page of Honour.

11 August 2000: We have received a highly interesting article about a new operating system project. Unfortunately it reached us a few hours after the release of Hugi 20, but as it's a very current topic, we have decided to publish it on the Web.

11 August 2000: Only about 14 hours after the release of Hugi 20, six people have already found the hidden part! The lucky winner is Mad/os (the time in his mail says 11:34:11pm), followed by sweeper, Sacri, nldsr, Dogbomb, and Rieha. We want to publish the top 10 on a "page of honour" at this website, so hurry up and try to find it, too!

10 August 2000: Hugi 20 - The Source of Life has been released! If you're a fan of Hugi, you simply have to get it!

03 August 2000: The HTML edition of the articles from Hugi 19 has slightly been enhanced. Thanks to mad/os for his contributions!

24 July 2000: The articles from Hugi 19 are now available in HTML format so that they can be read on machines not using Windows 9x/NT, too.

05 July 2000: Several new HTTP download mirrors have been added. Thanks to Wizard/Synthetic for uploading.

04 July 2000: Hugi 18 version 1.3 has been released. No, this is NOT a new Hugi issue! (The next one will be Hugi 20 and we're planning to release it in August.) It's just, finally, a - to our knowledge - entirely bug-free version of Hugi #18. The corresponding bugfix has been available since a few days after the release of Hugi #18, but the release of the full edition took until now. In fact I have released this just because I had received the suggestion to upload more issues of Hugi to HTTP servers instead of just FTP servers, as the HTTP protocol enables downloading via proxies and is more widely supported among popular ISPs. So I thought: "Why not release the most perfect version then?" Have fun! And don't forget: Article submission deadline for Hugi 20 is July 31st, 2000!

02 July 2000: Everybody can now participate in the survey about the decent size of a good diskmag. Click here and cast your vote!

01 July 2000: HugiNews 38 is out. The preliminary deadline for article submission to Hugi 20 is July 31st, 2000. Submit your reports, tutorials, stories, essays, etc. to Adok/Hugi.

27 June 2000: A page with all functions of the Diskmag Webring has been added.

18 June 2000: HugiNews 37 is out. Featuring two articles, 26 kbytes in total!

3 June 2000: HugiNews 36 is out. I've opened a page for the Orange Juice Banners Exchange.

25 May 2000: Hugi celebrates his fourth birthday today! The first issue of the giant's magazine was released on May 25th, 1996. Happy Birthday, Hugi!

21 May 2000: HugiNews 35 is out.

07 May 2000: HugiNews 34 is out. We're looking for people who want to help translating Hugi 20 to French. Drop an e-mail if you're interested.

29 April 2000: How should I put the feeling correctly? Well, actually I wanted to write: "Whoops, I erroneously wrote 'April 25' last time, but in fact it was still April 24! Just for the historical record, so that you don't get the date wrong when the Hugi website was redesigned!" But now I ask myself why I should write that, as there's something better to report: Hugi 19 is finished! And released! Get it now!

24 April 2000: Just finished (well, started and finished) re-designing the Hugi website. Now it should be better structured, look nicer, load faster and contain more information. Enjoy! I'll now eat breakfast, or, better, lunch, and then I'll continue editing articles for Hugi 19. Currently 1.1 mbyte of articles are ready, and there are still some 100 kb waiting to be processed. This will be a big issue! It will take only a few days until you'll be able to get it from this website, so stay tuned! As a nice little preview, you can already see the title picture (on the left). It was made by Bridgeclaw/Gods.
